My husband Scotty McCreery and I had been married for five years and our daughter, Kimberly was starting second grade, she had just turned 8 years old. When she arrived at her classroom, Scotty took her in and she was hiding behind him because she was scared to start second grade.  So then we both took her out to the school bus and she was in her daddy's arms and she was crying. I looked at my husband and asked, ""What's the matter with her, honey?" "She's scared, that's all. I'll drive her to school, so she will be close to me, alright?" "Okay." So then Scotty put Kimberly in his car and he drove her to school. When she was dropped off at her classroom, he walked in and the teacher looked up and asked, "May I help you?" "No ma'am, I'm just dropping off my daughter, Kimberly." "Oh I see, well, she'll have a great time here in my classroom, have a great day, sir. Thank you for dropping her off." "You're welcome, have a great day, ma'am. Kimberly, I love you, angel, have a great day, ma'am. Kimberley, I love you, angel. Look at Daddy, I'll be here to pick you up at the end of the day. Excuse me, ma'am, what time is her day over so that I can come and pick her up?" "Your daughter's school day is over at 2:30pm. Alright sir, you got that?" "Yes ma'am. Thank you so much, ya'll have a great day now. Kimberly, I love you." Then he kissed her and left the classroom. After he left, he got in the car and put on a song that he would always sing to Kimberly when she was little and the song was called, "Amazed" and he started to sing along with it. By the time he got home, I was up out of the bed and in the kitchen, getting my tea. I was reading the morning paper and then he came up behind me and gave me a kiss to say that he was home I looked up at him and said, "So how'd it go?" I looked at him with a concerned look on my face. He told me, "Well, she was nervous, but I reassured her that it would be fine." "What did she say?" "All she did said was, 'I love you, Daddy.' Then after I introduced myself to her teacher, I said that I would pick her up at 2:30 when her school day was over."

So when 2:30 rolled around, he looked at his watch and then he told me, "Time to go pick up Kimberly from school. I'll be back. I love you." He gave me a kiss and went out to his car and went to Kimberly's school to pick her up. When he arrived at her school, he walked into the office and asked, "Excuse me, my daughter is getting picked up today and she was supposed to be called to the office? Where is she?" "Sir, I'll call for you. You can have a seat while you wait if you wish." "No thank you, ma'am, I'm fine, thank you though." So then Kimberly came walking up the hallway and she went into the office and saw Daddy sitting there waiting for her. Right as soon as she saw Daddy, she ran up to him and threw her arms around him and said, "Hi Daddy, I'm ready to go home, WITH YOU!" He laughed and said, "So am I, angel. So am I. Ready to go see Mommy?" "Yes, I am. Let's go." He looked back at the sectaries and said, "Ladies, have a great day!" "Why, thank you, you as well, sir. By Kimberly." He picked her up and they walked out of the school and she waved to the secretaries. Once Kimberly was buckled in, she asked Scotty, "Daddy, can I hear a CD that you sang on?" "How do you ask?" "Please?" "That's a girl. Thank you. Anything for my little girl." So then he put on a song called, "Can I Trust You With My Heart" and the CD was "American Idol, Season 10, Scotty McCreery" Once it was in, he looked in the mirror and asked Kimberly, "Which song would Iike to hear?" "I want to hear the whole CD, please Daddy." "Of course." So then the first song that came on was "Can I Trust You With My Heart" and so when it came on Scotty turned it up and started singing along with it and Kimberly said, "Daddy, can I sing a duet with you sometime?" "We'll see. Maybe you can. At one of my show, alright angel." "Okay. Thanks Daddy, I love you." He gave her a kiss and then they arrived at our house and I was standing outside of the house on the front porch and Scotty unbuckled Kimberly from her car seat and they walked over to me and then Scotty gave me a kiss. We walked in the door and settled at the kitchen table and then Scotty gave me a kiss. We walked in the house and settled at the kitchen table and we talked about Kimberly. She told me all about her day at school, Mommy." "I'm glad that you had a great day, sweetie." So then around dinnertime, I was in the kitchen cooking cooking and then Scotty came up behind me and asked if I needed any help, but I told him, "No honey, I don't need any help, thank you for asking though. I love you." He kissed me just then on the cheek and walked upstairs to Kimberly's bedroom and she was focused on math homework and she couldn't figure out a math problem and so Scotty sat next to her and asked, "Do you need some help? Daddy can help you. Here, hand the paper to me and see if I can figure it out." She handed the paper to her dad and then he figured out all of the problems on her her homework. After all of them were done, he handed her the paper, she looked at him and said in surprise, "Daddy, you did my homework, you're not getting graded on this, I AM!" "Oh, I'm sorry." After that, it was the end of the day.
