Fake News

It’s fake,

It’s false,

It’s fantasy

But how are we to know

Unless it’s so outlandish

Common sense will tell us so.

It’s lies,

It’s cruel,

Malicious

And intended to do harm.

When you’re the subject of it

It is hard to keep your calm.

To stir,

Inflame,

Cause worry

A story’s been created,

Or maybe just to hide the facts

Keeping truth sedated.

Doubt,

Mistrust,

Be sceptical

Of everything you read;

You’ll never know whose influence,

To you it’s trying to feed.

News,

Truth,

Reality

You want to know hard facts

But there’s so much trash that’s out there

Our integrity's attacked.

Deceit,

False,

Invented,

Made to totally confuse,

The advent of misinforming,

The creation of false news!
