Defences

I’m bringing out my shovel, and I’m fetching out my pick,

I’m going to dig myself a moat and I must do it quick.

It’s going to be a lot of work, there’ll be blisters on my hands

but once I make that circle I’ll be away from the mainland.

I’ll fill that moat with water, piranhas there will live,

I’ll embrace the isolation that all this will give.

I might construct a drawbridge over which I’ll keep control

and I can be quite heartless ever since my own was stole;

I’m out of circulation now, the barricades they are in place,

I’ll exist entirely on my own and live in my private space.

So you might come calling but just expect to be turned away

No more of playing by your rules. That’s all I’ve got to say!
