Doris And Ewan

We were given warning before Doris came to visit,

told that she could be quite bad and cause destruction with it;

but Doris, when she passed us by, she did not behave too bad,

although others where she passed right through were to see her sure not glad.

But last night an unexpected visitor came visiting our house

a really rather rowdy one – he was certainly no mouse.

This visitor was Ewan, a lad with an axe to grind

and he would do it noisily we were about to find.

He was phenomenally rowdy as he threw many things around,

he whistled round the corner and brought branches to the ground.

It seems he had a temper and he wasn’t holding back

but he’s moved off now so happily we’ve survived his crude attack.

I’m hoping there’s no more of their family waiting in the wings;

I think we’ve earned a respite from the worry that they bring.

It pays to be careful and make sure that you’re prepared

in case they or their family descend without a warning word!
