I picked up speed as I zipped down the black diamond slope at the White Woodlands ski center in Colorado. I could feel the  snow soaking through my fuzzy socks in my ski boots, but I didn't care. I  was almost  to the bottom of the huge mountain people called a hill. As I reached the bottom I heard my best friend, Ceceal  cheering as I cruised over  too where she was standing. "Hana Ankerr!  She squealed. "You just went down the biggest  slope in Colorado without flinching! " I laughed at my bubbly best friend. "First, I don't think that is the biggest slope in Colorado. And second, I was really scared, so don't think I just  went down without flinching." I said still smiling. Ceceal rolled her eyes. "You're too modest, Hana. You know very well that a lot of fifteen year old girls can't even stand on skis! Let alone go down the biggest and scariest slope in Colorado!" I laughed again. "Cece, I really do not think that it's the biggest slope in Colorado. It's barely scary and no one could get hurt on it. I promise." Just at that time, we turned around an saw a middle age guy zooming down the slope. Suddenly, his foot slipped and he thudded down and was sliding down the Mountain. "Ahhhhhhhhh!!!" He yelled. Just in the nick of time, a female skier with a bright green neon coat expertly skidded to a stop and helped the guy get up and get moving down the slope again. He turned around and yelled, "Thank you!" The skier nodded and started picking up speed down the hill. I pushed myself over to where the skier was going to stop and was ready to congratulate the skier on how nice they were to help the Man. "Hey, I just wanted to- All of the sudden as I looked into the eyes of the skier, I froze. I was looking at my idol, Trishka Filipsson from Sweden, who competed in the winter Olympics last year, and won 7th place! Ceceal looked confused at my sudden quietness and then put a bright smile on her face. "Hi! I'm Ceceal Starke. This is my best friend, Hana Ankerr You look familiar. Have I seen you somewhere? I'm kinda weird that way. I feel like I've seen someone before but I actually haven't. I think it's just my brain." Ceceal gasped for breath. Trishka laughed a sweet giggle. 'Well hi, Ceceal. I'm-"  "You're Trishka Filipsson!" I blurted out. Trishka and Ceceal looked startled by my sudden outburst.  "Yes, I'm Trishka Filipsson." She said slowly. Ceceal looked at Trishka one ore time. Then Her mouth opened to wide it looked like it was going to drop to the ground. "Oh my gosh!!!!" She yelled so loud I clapped my gloved hands to my ears.  "You are like Hana's idol! She has posters of you in her room! She absolutely loves you! Hey, you should show her what you got, Hans! Hana just went down that huge black diamond without falling! She is great Olympic material!" My face turned red as I noticed Ceceal's loud voice getting lots of people's attention. "Ceceal, please quiet your voice!" Ceceal immediately went quiet. "Now,'' I said. " I'm Hana. I know who you are. I'm a huge fan! Why are you here?" Trishka smiled a sweet, genuine smile. "I'm here" She said in cracked English. "Because I am, how do you say? Training for my competition next month. My coach said I needed to come to the America and work on my stills." I held back a giggle. "Oh, do you mean skills?" She sheepishly nodded. "I will be here tomorrow at this time if you want to ski together. The you can show me, how your friend put it, 'What you got" She said. I almost fainted. My favorite Olympic skier was asking me to ski with her! Ceceal put her blue glove to her mouth and let out a muffled squeal. I stared into Trishka's clear blue eyes. It was like I was trying to verify if she was serious. "Yes. I'd love to." Then my peace bubbled into excitement and I almost let out a 'Ceceal squeal' As I call it. Trishka grinned. "Ok, I'll see you tomorrow." She said. And with a muscular push of her poles coasted toward the ski lift. As she was out of hearing Ceceal grabbed my shoulder and shook me until her skis slipped on the icy snow and she callapsed. I had to giggle. Ceceal giggled too and stood back up with my help. She brushed herself off. "Ok, how cool was that? You just got invited to ski with Trishka! Wait." Her excited face turned serious. "Can I come too?" She asked. "Of course you can!" I glanced at my watch."Oh no! My mom is probably here. I need to go!" I said. "Ok! See you tomorrow, Hans!" With that I slid down to the shelter.
