Blood. Isn’t that a dramatic way to start this diary? But it’s true, there was blood everywhere. As soon as I heard the first scream, I knew something was wrong. As I half ran half tiptoed along the blackened corridor, I made sure I had my knife out, just incase. I twisted the door handle, and gently pushed the door open. I screamed . I couldn't help myself .It was my nightmare come true…

Ever since I can remember i've been having these nightmares. They started off quite, you know , the average nightmare , where you're close to dying and then you wake up or something? Well I could just about bare that every night , but as I got older the nightmares got worse and worse. I’m Xanthe by the way, I am 14 and I have blond hair with brown highlights, blue eyes. My mum died when I was three, I remember it all as if it were yesterday...There was a storm going on outside , thunder lightning, I just couldn't sleep. After ten minutes i was really tired and annoyed, so I went into my mums room and I saw her asleep. I couldn't believe anyone could sleep through this but, apparently you could. I whispered her name and she didn't wake up so I spoke it louder this time and still the same response. It took me a while to realize that she was actually dead, I was only three after all. I cried and cried , I didn't know what to do. In the morning the woman next door came over to bring cookies, and I showed her my mum's room. She gasped, and gave me a hug and brought me round to her apartment . The police came round along with the ambulances, and took her away. Ever since then , i've been living with my aunt.
