It's a shame, all the lies we're told

The stigma behind mental health, the truth we cannot uphold

When it feels like the world is crumbling around you and your heart is beating like a thousand drums

All that surrounds us is constant denial, paired with twiddling thumbs

The rain pours down on you, yet there's nothing to use as a shield

And the taboo that makes us wonder why we have to lock and seal

Our lips are chapped and faces stained from all the anger that remains

Our lives are everything we do not want, yet nothing we can change.
