I turn to look at the clock and shake my head. It's 7pm and Stone is still in his so called man cave office. He has been in there for hours already. Earlier a bunch of scary looking men came to our home and after that Stone and the men locked themselves inside his office and haven't came out since. I should be use to this by now. Stone isn't a regular man. He's known to the world as Stone Petrov the most powerful man in Arizona. He's a Russian mob boss with ties to drugs, weapons and much more. The same hands that caresses my body every night is the same hands that kill people without remorse or guilt. He has ties to the Russian mafia which is a powerful organization. We met when I was a waitress at his club Bliss. I always known it was something more to Stone I just never knew it was this. We were friends before anything happened between us. I was his taste of fresh air as he calls it. We went dancing, to museums, walks in the park, talking about our lives and what we wanted for the future. It was during that time I fell in love with him. Although he never shared things about his life I could tell it was very painful for him to talk about. All I knew was that he was born in Russia and his parents were killed shortly after he was born. He was raised in an orphanage until he was 18 and he got into the Russian mafia and started underground fighting which led him into the United States. After he got out the underground fighting he opened up Bliss. Bliss was his way of having something legal he said for when he left mafia. We were from different worlds I was light while he was dark. I lost friends and my parents disowned me when they found out about him. He gave me a choice to stay or leave. Any regular person would leave when they find out the person they love is apart of the Russian mafia and is a mob boss but I chose to stay with him. I was so in love with Stone I couldn't see my life without him. That stuff didn't matter to me. Yes I wrong for loving a criminal but when I looked into his eyes I didn't see that I just seen Stone. We got married in a small ceremony with just us. My life changed drastically. We had 24 hour security around the house. I wasn't allowed to leave house without bodyguards. No one was allowed in the house without Stone's permission. It was for my own protection he always said. It was lonely when he wasn't here and since he wouldn't let me work at the restaurant I was always left at home while he worked. That's what I wanted to talk to him about today. I wanted to go back to school and finish my degree in criminal justice. When we got married I took a break from school to focus on our marriage but now I was starting to lose myself. I didn't just want want to be know as Velvet Petrov, the wife of a mob boss I wanted to be my own person. The sound of doors opening had me snapping out of my mental fog. I looked toward the hallway and seen Stone walking the men toward our front door. It was a lot of chuckling and a bunch of words I couldn't understand since it was all said in Russian. I was glad Stone was finally done so we could talk. Stone and the men disappeared outside and a few minutes later he walked back into the house. Shutting the door behind him he pulled his cell phone out and started talking to someone in Russian. Clearly he didn't see me since I was sitting in the corner of our living room and the lights were out. That gave me a chance to look at him uninterrupted. I wanted to laugh at how fast he started to loosen his tie. Stone hated wearing suits, he just wore them for appearance reasons. Around the house he wore regular clothes. Even though he hated suits he looked very sexy in them. They made him look powerful and in control. While he was talking on the phone he started working on his cuff links. He rolled both sleeves up to reveal his forearms which were both covered in tattoos. He never talked about them at all. I asked once and he made it clear that it wasn't something he wanted to talk about. They were beautiful though. He had dragons running up and down both arms surrounded by fire and various Russian sayings. The colors were beautiful and very artistic. On his hands he had spiderwebs that covered the entire back of each of his hands and ran down all his fingers. His stomach and chest were covered in more dragons and Russian words. His back was covered with a mural of a Phoenix. It was a very captivating piece and was very detailed. He had flames running on both sides of his neck. Stone was a very closed off person and he only revealed small parts of his life before me when he wanted to. The only thing I never doubted with him was how he felt about me. I knew he loved me as much as I loved him. As he continued his phone call I just continued to stare at him. He had a powerful physique with board shoulders that tapered down to a thin waist. His legs and thighs were bigger then my whole body. He stood at 6'5 while I barely reached 5'5. His face could be described as flawed but that added to the beauty of it. Stone had various knicks and scars on his face from his fighting days. Every chance I got I always kissed those scars just to let him know that those didn't matter to me. His best feature was his eyes. The palest blue I've ever seen. Sometimes they look dead and cold depending on his mood while other times they are filled with so much emotion it'll scare you. He kept his blond hair cut close to scalp and he only let it grow out once every few months just so he can get it cut again. A lot of people didn't like the fact that Stone's a criminal and I'm a nobody but that wasn't the only reason why we didn't receive a warm welcoming. Stone was considered white while I was the poor black girl looking for a rich man. When I looked at Stone I didn't see white or black nor did I see rich or poor all I seen was Stone the man I loved. I was brought back into the present by Stone's loud voice yelling my name, "Velvet! Where are you?" I would of thought by now he would of noticed I was right in front of him. He walked upstairs probably checking our room or the bathroom. I shake my head and get comfortable and wait for him to come back down. "Velvet where are you?" I can tell he's getting upset because he starts running his fingers through his hair. Next he pulled out his phone and I knew he was going to damn near send out a search party looking for me so I finally spoke. "Baby I'm right here stop yelling." With the phone midway to his ear Stone turned toward the sound of my voice. "Vee why are you sitting in the dark?" He went to turn the lights on flooding the living room with light. I felt goose bumps form on my arms due to the intensity of his stare. "I was waiting for you to finish your meeting it." I seen some of the tension leave his body at my words.
