Celena's POV

"This is impossible." I grumble, kicking a rock on my way to the Agora.

"I mean, is it that hard to find a perfectly good thin rock for skipping across a lake or a river? Apparently it is."

Hi, I'm Celena Argyris. Moon Silver. And I'm currently on my way to the Agora, a marketplace.

Now you're wondering whether we believe in Greek gods and goddesses? Well, you might think we do, but really only a handful of people believe in them. I, for one, do believe in them. But, the gods and goddesses are all stupid and lazy. They don't care about us. But as long as we don't disrespect them, we're safe.

I tore away from my thoughts, as I bumped into a patrician. And a high one at that. My eyes widened as I slowly stepped backwards. Luckily, he was drunk and didn't notice.

"Celena? You okay?"

A voice I recognize. "Yeah somehow. Well see you later Lydia."

Lydia's family is one of the richer plebeian families. But, still my friend.

I was actually on 12 years old and I steal in the Agora sometimes. I looked really rich because of the golden band on my wrist, the white tunic or chiton that turns blue at the bottom. The outfit was sleeveless and under the chest area, it was secured with a gold rope. I stole food, necessities, etc. for the other plebeians. To them I was a hero, a savior. To the patricians, I was a waste of space, an unrequired human in the world.

I was stuck in my own little world, I didn't notice I walked all the way to my mother's temple from when the time she was a priestess. I climbed over the moss walls, with great difficulty, and ran into the temple corner and dropped my breakfast on the floor. It's getting harder for me to get food for me and the others. Today's breakfast is bread, just like any other mornings. I sigh in depression. I slap my cheeks hard.

'Can't do that.'

I heard something. Voices. In an old temple.

'How odd.'

"I know Athena, you keep on saying that over and over again. For the last time, I don't care and think that someone is here."

"POSEIDON! You and I know that Zeus stationed us here against our will. The Fates themselves said that someone special will come."

The voices got louder as I got closer. 'Gods and Goddesses. Oh no. They might punish me. Get on their good side, Celena.' I gasp and stepped on a twig. My eyes widened as there 2 people's heads turned. I got timid as I squeaked,"My lady, I didn't know it was you. I'm so sorry."

I bow at the 2 deities. They raise their eyebrows and the god Poseidon said,"Athena, you think this is...?"

"Yes Poseidon. But she doesn't look like she's the one. Especially if she's a patrician."

"My lady, I'm not a patrician, I'm plebeian but that doesn't matter. I want to know why you are here, in an old temple, instead of your new temples in the center of the city." I said this as politely as I could.

"Not important. Young lady every piece of information is important. We're going to have to take you to Olympus for a matter, that YOU are in."

When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life you have a thousand reason to smile.

Difficult roads often leads to beautiful destinations.
