-Remember we're looking for a Nice formal dress. -How about this one? -Nah, that's too flashy, i don't appreciate being the center of attention. -k.. Oh, check this one out. -You're not serious are you? Do you know what formal means? -I never got the meaning behind all of this. I mean why the fuck do you care for the "dress code"? Who put it? A human being. Qre we obliged to follow? No, because last I checked it wasn't Jesus. - You are absolutely right , we're not obliged to follow. But we should, so that we won't be walking around with fingers pointed at our bodies and people labelling us as " rebellious ". - And what's wrong with that? I mean the rebellious matter. - You don't need to be walking around shouting " HEY I'M DIFFERENT " . If you're different that's okay, but if you feel the urge to inform everyone about it, that's not okay, I believe it's the same as being " normal" just to please others.. How about this over here, I like the texture. -that would look great on you if you just turned 80 and you're giving up on life. So tell me, what's the meaning of having thoughts if you can't share them just because they don't qualify for the norms? -you should share them -come on let's get moving- you should share them with people who wanna listen to you in order to exchange information, opinions etc.. But if you wanna be different just for that, you're crying for attention, you're looking for approval from people , which means you don't believe in what you so call your beliefs, you just need recognition and that would lead to someone so stubborn who thinks only him holds the keys to the truth and all those who don't approve of him are wronged.. Bam you're becoming the other face of the coin.. So the right thing is to be different and normal at the same time. -but where is the limit between both? I mean for example that dress back there, you said it was flashy, but I didn't think so.. So normal differs from one person to another.. And therefore you'll spend your life trying to blend in and satisfy this and that and YOU won't be satisfied because you're always stuck in that green zone defining the line.. Remind me why are the prices this exaggerted!! -because they're designed by someone people agreed is "perfect" so he never did what he's good at for free. I think I like this one.. You know where lies the fine line? it's called common manners, etiquette, tradition , differs from a culture to the other. It's actually defined by experience. You notice people, listen to them, define their interests, categorize them then find a common ground between all of them from which you define YOUR normal regarding them , it would be the part of you that you manipulate the way you please to just blend in.. Because our existence is based on a well balanced relationship between you and the other.. - Okay I get you, but would you tell me from where do their common interests come from? - Some processed ideas acquired from parents, entourage, sociocultural environment... -So all it takes to change them is a change in some common facts. I mean if by any chance this gentleman who tagged these dresses would decide to change the definition of a formal dress they'd be all following .. - True, and we'll accommodate our "normal" ACCORDING TO what we see as a good match for our lifestyles, perceptions, beliefs .. You see? That's where we differ from them, we take, analyse, suit ourselves, and blend in perfectly.. They just "follow". -And back to square one, why go through all this pain ? -impressing others is a part of our daily life, we impress to get the job, we impress to fall in love, we impress to get the grade.. Because our.. -Whole existence is based on a well balanced relationship between you and the other. -Exactly, thank you sir . -you're welcome madam, you have a great taste.. anything else I can help you with? -oh thank you! no that's all, have a nice day! -you too! -a great taste huh?
