In small cafe

On Seagull Street

We met just yesterday

I walked the block

From Seaside Street

Along the sparkling bay

The surf was up

The sun was high

A perfect summer day

Tan legs, sundress

And flip-flops

Lazy beach array

Surfboards leaned

Against the fence

A break in water play

Inside it seemed a party place

Instead of a cafe

How quickly love

Can grow from glance

Especially when

Hearts take the chance

To speak of more

Than just romance

At quaint small table

By the door

We laughed and watched

The tourists pour

Into the street

We spoke of poets

Books and art

Your voice familiar

Stole my heart

As if its tone

Had always been

A memory

I held within

We walked the sand

To distant pier

Forever memory

Souvenir

............. West Coast Jazz on a summer day...Listen to Look What You've Done to Me..The legendary Boz Scaggs You Tube....goes with poem
