  You're Not Safe At Night

 Chapter  1:Nightmare

He backed up knowing something bad was going to happen. Nothing did at first, and then something did. A torch lit up and then another. When the last one lit up he saw a shadow, a shadow that you could touch. The shadow looked down at its side and reached for something. When the shadow looked up, he pulled out a knife. The shadow opened its mouth. It looked like he was about to say something, but not a single word came out, just blood! The shadow started walking towards Kevin.  All of a sudden Kevin heard a low and deep voice echoing through the dark hall.  He couldn’t make out what it was saying at first but it became louder and louder.  Now he heard it. ”You're not safe at night, you're not safe at night, you're not safe at night!” A drop of blood fell on Kevin’s cheek.  Now the shadow was right in front of him.  With the knife above its head it charged it down towards Kevin, only inches away.

“Ahhhhhhhhhh!” yelled Kevin.

“What’s wrong Kevin?” Asked his parents as they came into the room.

“I just had a nightmare that’s all.”

“You're not the only one that had a nightmare!” Cried his little sister Ellen as she came in.

“Oh look, it’s the little cry baby.” Kevin laughed

“Kevin that’s not nice, just go back to bed now. Ok?” scolded his mom.

“Alright, alright,” said Kevin, as everyone started to leave. But just as Ellen reached the door she turned around and walked over to Kevin.

“It was scary you know, it was nothing to laugh about.”

“Ok ok… Cry baby,”  He whispered to himself. “It was only a nightmare anyways, just go back to bed.”

“You're right. I should just go back to bed,  But that shadow sure was creepy,” she said shivering. Ellen started to leave the room.

“Shadow?”

“Yes shadow!”

“I also had a nightmare about a shadow!”

“Ok well that is strange.”

“I know right. We had the same nightmare; this could mean something.”

“I just meant that we have something in common! You don’t have to make it sound weirder than it already is. And before it actually does, I’m gonna go to bed.” So she did, but Kevin spent all night thinking about what it meant, but when he finally fell asleep, his mom came into his room and told him to get up for school.

Chapter 2:the hole in the wall

“Uuuhh!” he groaned. “I don’t want to get up.”

“Well you have to if you don’t want to be late for the bus.”

“Fine,” he mumbled. He got up very slowly trying to gain his balance. He headed for his closet and as he opened the door, his legs started to shake. He fell down, bashing his arm into the wall as he did so. “Ouch.”

“Is everything ok up there?” asked his mom.

“Yes, everything is fine”. kevin got up, rubbing his arm. He looked at the big hole in the wall. “What!? There’s no way I did that.” He noticed that the wall was hollow and he wondered if there was anything behind the wall. So he grabbed a flashlight and looked though.

Meanwhile, downstairs, Ellen was helping Mom make breakfast; scrambled eggs with bacon and a cup of orange juice.

Kevin who was still upstairs was distracted by what he saw. He saw a large staircase leading to something but he couldn’t see the rest.

“Ellen, go get your brother he’s in his room.” demanded mom So Ellen did.

“Hurry up Kevin! your breakfast is getting cold…” She waited a couple of seconds just about to go back downstairs. “HEY!” she screamed as Kevin pulled her into his room.

“Shh... follow me I have something to show you,” kevin said, showing her the hole.

“What did you do? mom’s going to freak out when she sees this!”

“I know, I know, but you have to look behind it.”

“This better not be one of your silly pranks,” she said as she grabbed the flashlight from kevin’s hand and looked inside. “Where do think it leads?”

“I don’t know, but I really want to find out.”

“Kids, the bus is here! Hurry up!”

“Ok! We will be down in a bit!” yelled Kevin “I can’t wait to go to school!”

“There's a first, I’ve never seen you this excited for school.”

“Well today is different.”

“Come on kids the bus driver is running out of patience!” So they ran down the stairs, put on their coats, and got on the bus.

Chapter 3:The Plan

On the way to school, Kevin kept thinking about what he was going to do. He was going to ditch school to keep investigating, and now since no one was going to be home, he could make as much noise as he wanted so he could smash the wall.

The bus stopped. It was time for his plan.

Step one: At first recess, go to the hole in the fence far in the back where no one can see me.

Step two: Once I get there, I’ll crawl through the hole and start running as fast as I can through the woods.

Step three: Once I get home, I will go to the back door because it's unlocked.

Step four: Investigate.

RING

“Ok its recess everyone out” yelled Kevin's teacher. And so the plan begun, as soon as I got outside I charged towards the back no one could stop me. I finally reached the back and boy was I out of breath, but that didn’t matter right now. The bullies of the school were right behind me, so I backed up from the hole looked at them and started running straight towards the fence I slipped, but on purpose I slide right through the hole and was on the other side. The bullies didn’t come after me instead I saw them going towards a teacher but i didn’t care I just started walking home, on my through the woods I saw a shadow like from my nightmare but I only saw it for a split second, but it was just in my head……. But so I thought, there it was again I started to get really scared so I ran the rest of the way. I think I know now why mom never let’s me go into the woods.

 Chapter 4:bottom of the staircase

I finally got to the backyard

“Finally home at last just got to open the door!” so he did but very slowly even though no one was home. I quickly ran upstairs to my room but as soon as I reached the hole I realized I didn’t have anything to make the hole bigger, I was thinking about going to the garage and getting a sledge hammer but dad always locks it before he leaves for work at 5:30 am.

“I can’t believe I’m so stupid!” he thought if I could break that hole without even trying I could easily break it with a simple punch. So kevin backed up his fist and punched the the beside the hole, WAM a piece of the wall fell down the staircase. Now the hole was big enough for him to fit through, he grabbed his flashlight and crawled through. When he reached the other side he took all of his courage and headed down, BOOM kevin turned around the staircase was blocked in both directions he looked around with his flashlight, something caught his eye he looked down and saw a red button.

“I must have stepped on that!” he said angrily, he pushed the button again hoping it was going to open up the doorway. Well it did open one, but not the one he was hoping for, but he got up anyway and started going down the rest of the stairs. As he got of the last step and took only three steps and another wall blocked the staircase he looked down at the floor and there was no sign of a button a wire anything there was no way out. Zzzz

“No not now!” Kevin's flashlight burnt out, and now it was pitch black. Kevin walked forward slowly and scared, Kevin felt something on the bottom of his foot, he just stepped on something, he backed up knowing something bad was going to happen, but nothing happened but only for a second.

Then a torch lit up, then another and another Kevin became even more scared with every torch, he felt like he had seen this before. And he was not wrong, at the end of the hall he saw a shadow a shadow that he could touch. The shadow pulled out a knife and opened it’s mouth, blood just started pouring out, and if things couldn’t get any scarier they did.

He heard a low deep voice that started, “you're not safe at night, you're not safe at night, you’re not safe at night.”

Kevin was paralyzed in fear, it was all happening so fast. He closed his eyes as he felt the drop of blood land on his cheek. He heard the sound of rushing wind as the shadow lifted up a knife, kevin started to cry as the shadow charged the knife down at him……

To be continued…….
