My Heaven was Real

By Jasmine Howard

Wounded. I cried out into the physical delima of reality that cornered me from eternal paradise. I begged and pleaded for the burning consequences of whomevers actions to cease.

It did.

A foreign numbness of a mere after thought palmed my heart to silence, It was then that I began to drift away.

Higher and higher above this world, this life and all mortal barriors, only to break the surface of a placid ocean in the sky.

Endless, boundless, and untouched by time. All I could ever have dreamed, that which was said could never be, became all there ever would.

I closed my eyes and prayed my thanks in spirit to the ears of my promised forever.
