That look...
It is haunting, I vividly remember the day I seen it on his face..

Life itself stood still as his eyes screamed for mercy to come swiftly..
Once weightless, The darkness rode his back with its thin elongated arms wrapped underneath his own holding its balance by gripping his heart.

You see everything for what it is..The world seems normal until that moment he leans in and speaks to your ear softly in a whisper
"open your eyes Jeff, Just for a moment.."

I lift my vision to look forward as the world melts around me and the shade grows to replace objects in my sight, what was once a counter top decorated with familiar faces and returning customers is now a worn and dirty hospital bed with my chart sitting there alone.
There are no walls..
no sound..
Just me standing in front of a mirror as I study my face for a calming sense of safety.

I remember that look on my face, It is haunting.
