Looking To Your Eyes

  By John Jimoh

She said yes I do

In the boils of discord

When the harbingers have galvanized

Themselves in war of rebuttal

From both sides of the family

Inducing my vows in the seat of my

Heart, deeper than one made before

The priest a vouch to armor her from

Foes in the cave of war where mothers

opted out her acquiescence

And fathers just in the cryptic mien

I looked into her eyes and saw the

Glands soaked with confidence

As rivers coil in the cheek near

My leek, I must not fail her

My eyes kept a firmer flirt about

The light in her eyes and her heart

I heard the beat of her sumptuous lips

Pouring courage on my love attire

My cries drained very fast in a visible

Landscape that gave our nuptial voyage

A route in the deep mystery of life

Watering my vows daily like the

Ceaseless flow of the Arizona sea

The mirror of her beautiful eye dots

Blinks the honesty in the inward part

To keep my promises for her sacred

Our decisions lay wreathe to our

Destinies when we walk in the aisle of

Our secrecy where nobody treads

Banging doors of offense to our foes

Yet it's still our lives with solitary oaths
