I know a friend in pain
He said he’d be alright
I knew something was strange
And soon he lost the fight
I knocked on his front door
And still got no reply
His body on the floor
Is what I can’t deny
Sometimes the brightest smiles
Can hide the darkest pain
I knew this for awhile
And still I can’t explain
I want to get away
But I know I can’t leave
If heaven’s like they say
Then make some room for me
I know that I fucked up
I should’ve tried to help
Instead I tried to run
And then you blamed yourself
What if I had done more
What if you were around
What are your friends good for
If they leave when you’re down
