I look at myself in the mirror

And what do I see

I see my gain on the outside

But there is pain inside of me

The pain is disguised

Absorbed into my flesh

My heart as dull as iron mesh

The sunlight covers me and brightens the wounds

Oh why oh why can life be so cruel

There’s light on the outside

And dark on the in

But even the outside can be coated with sin

If your heart cracks open

And lets the light in

You’ll learn to be happy

On the outside and in
