The Emotion Box

I’ve got it here in front of me, this box full of emotions

I’ve just got to lift the lid right off to put it all in motion.

These feelings will come swirling out, which one’s gonna stay?

Whichever one that remains will say how I’ll feel today.

Is it gonna be depression, or maybe pure delight,

or will I just be cantankerous, spoiling for a fight?

Will this day be one of melancholy, a deep and gentle sadness

or one that is so crazy that there’ll be lunacy and madness?

Perhaps it will be a happy day, one in which I feel so glad,

or it could be one where sorrow rules and makes me feel so sad.

It might be one that’s perplexing – a mystery to me,

or one that’s so relaxing it makes me feel really free.

Will guilt be what is ruling me, pulling me down under,

or maybe magic will dominate and fill me with much wonder.

When I open up that box I really have not got a clue --

I’m wondering if that’s what it’s like for every one of you!
