Look Over your Shoulder

The days of feeling you are safe wherever you may be

seem to be now in the past for you can’t now be worry-free;

you need to be quite vigilant, look out for any threat,

it seems it can be anywhere where people just can get.

There’s no telling what form it will be in, if the danger, it appears,

we’ve been taught to look for suspect packages for a good few years.

But the attacks that are being made are a very different thing,

the randomness just seems to add to the terror that they bring.

There are lone, sole attackers that are wielding a vicious knife,

the orchestrated gunmen who are set on taking lots of life;

the bombers who don’t really care if they live or if they die,

taking as many people with them –you’ll never understand why!

But when it comes to vehicles that just plough down people randomly

it’s impossible to take steps to from these attacks be free.

It’s a total lottery where we have to take a chance,

so over your shoulder you’ll have to always glance;

we can’t just stay in hiding – our lives have to carry on --

all we can just hope for is the terror to be gone.
