I still remember that day.

It was in my freshmen year that it happened.

I took for the stage for a performance in spoken word poetry.

But that day told a story.

It is now part of my history.

But it still makes me smile.

I decided to narrate one of my favourite poems.

Suddenly something took over me and I cried.

I know big boys don't cry but I cried.

People thought i wanted to make the narration dramatic.

But well that wasn't planned, I truly cried.

A series of memories started to unfold about that poem.

I was taken back to those days.

The days we had our own ways.

The days worthy being called the best.

People keep pushing me to do spoken word poetry.

But I am scared it might be the same story.

I am scared of performing coz most of my favourite poems take me Down the same memory lane.

I still remember that day and how emotions took over

When I said 'i miss you, I miss us'

It's funny but I still remember that day.

I remember how beautiful the memory lane was.

It's funny but I cried.
