I saw a cavern in the sky called Angel's Flight

And they say it must be seen through prayer and fasting.

It is a path that sometimes leads to sainted scenes

And a place that tells of life --- ever lasting.

There are regiments of choirs singing there,

Some are angels; some are saints, the rest unknown.

But I was swept-up by the beauty of the voices

And the sounds of the harmony, and the tone.

"Hallelujah," I thought, “I’ve died and gone to heaven."

But it was my trip to holy thoughts --- beyond sight.

I got there, I thought, through prayer and fasting

And through that cavern in the sky called Angel's Flight.

Did I see God among the choirs and attendants?

Did I see a throne and a sunlight- jeweled crown?

I did not --- and I was very disappointed

Until I realized that God was in the sound.

I saw God in the eyes of every singer

In the sounds of the voices that I heard

I was moved --- to join in the singing

And strangely, --- I knew every word.

Yes, I saw a cavern in the sky called Angel's Flight

And they say it must be seen through prayer and fasting;

But I'm here tell the truth, that you can visit anytime,

Just close your eyes and sing a song --- to the everlasting.
