I saw a cavern in the sky, called Angel's Flight

And they say it must be seen through prayer and fasting.

It is a path that sometimes leads to sainted scenes

And a place that tells of life --- ever lasting.

There are regiments of choirs singing there,

Some are angels; some are saints, the rest unknown.

But I was taken by the beauty of the voices

And the sounds of the harmony, and tone.

"Hallelujah," I thought, “I’ve died and gone to heaven."

But it was my trip to holy thoughts --- beyond sight.

I got there, I thought, through prayer and fasting

And through that cavern in the sky, called Angel's Flight.

Did I see God among the quires and attendants?

Did I see a throne and a sunlight-jeweled-crown?

I did not --- and I was very disappointed

Until I realized --- God was in the sound.

I saw God in the eyes of every singer

In the sounds of the voices that I heard

I was moved --- to join in the singing

And strangely --- I knew every word.

Yes, I saw a cavern in the sky, called Angel's Flight

And they say it must be seen through prayer and fasting.

But I'm here tell the truth, you can visit anytime,

Just close your eyes and sing a song --- to the everlasting.
