"a ship.

the one object, the one idea, that links and unifies the human experience-- irrespective of race, religion, or creed.

we're all voyagers, navigating this experience we call life. day by day. minute by minute. moment by moment.

each ship is different. some seem to have an advantage in travel capital from the onset, others seem as if they might drown on first impact.

therein lies the resiliency that defines us. whatever a ship a lacks in visual appeal, it often makes up for in strength. patchy sails and a creaky deck are never an automatic death sentence. history has illustrated that notion time and time again.

& you need that strength. the seas progressively get higher as you venture further and further in your journey. unexpected storms and uncontrollable wind gusts almost always knock you off course and inevitably force you to revaluate your situation, and sometimes, restart completely.

there's always been a silent beauty in the struggle, though. In times of chaos and crisis, with everything seemingly going against you, you find out who you really are. you find out what you're really made of.

If you're blessed enough to be surrounded by a crew of people whom genuinely care about you, cherish them. It makes the voyage considerably smoother.

finally, hold on tight to whatever your concept of "land" is. whether it's a material object or an idealistic notion, let it forever guide you in your actions and motivate you in your endeavors. It's almost always closer than you think.

as hard as it may be to see and feel sometimes, the natural current of the water will almost always push you in the right direction. where you're supposed to be. doing what you were made to do. surrounded by the people you were made to be doing it with. trust the process."
