Although the bullies in this poem are boys, I know they could just as easily be girls!

The Bully Boys

Here they come, the bully boys,

flexing muscles, clicking heels,

don’t meet their eyes for they will see

a chance to let you know just how it feels

to be a target, made a victim,

held to ransom, picked upon.

They’ll toy with you, instil fear

but brace yourself, it won’t be long

before the lashing out is made

with fists and feet towards you flying,

and then they just don’t wanna stop

until you fall to the ground lying.

And then there’s the gloating,

the worst is done,

you’ll still survive,

they’ve had their fun --

just don’t move

and do play dead,

wrap your arms

around your head.

Shut those eyes

but listen good,

make sure they’ve gone

before you should

make your move

onto your feet

and struggle home

escape complete.
