I Found A Friend.

While exploring in the garden,

Through grass so long and green

I spotted something sitting there,

The only rabbit that I’d seen.

It didn’t seem to see me

So straight up to it I hopped,

There’s something wrong about it,

I realised when I stopped.

It’s nose, it wasn’t twitching,

And it’s ears were very still,

It started to occur to me

This bunny might be ill.

I moved a little closer

And saw that it had no fur,

And still it did ignore me

As if I wasn’t there.

It had a very funny smell,

A scent so sickly sweet,

 Oddly it made me hungry,

It made me want to eat.

I nibbled on a blade of grass,

And looked my new friend in the eye,

It didn’t even give a blink,

I really wonder why.

This rabbit is none to friendly,

Maybe he doesn’t want to talk,

I’ll wait another minute

And then I’ll take a walk.

I’m heading back towards my hutch,

But he doesn’t follow me,

Perhaps tomorrow he will talk;

I’ll have to wait and see.
