Waist-high in gentle tides,

You came as far as me,

No more farther could you come,

But I did as I pleased.

On and on I went in search,

Of solace in that frothing blue,

Heaved and ho’d by ocean’s breath,

Yet still my legs would push on through.

Alas, my soul was drowned from sight,

The sky above, a churning sea,

That push and pull, her ocean cruel,

With none...

To blame...

But me.
