The Goose and Duck Pub:

A man sits alone alone at the Goose and Duck pub,

Drinking his second daily Tonic and Gin.

His tie slightly crooked and his vision is blurred,

Just trying to poison his insides from his sin.

He cracks a smile at the waitress

She knows he's an alcohol so shoots him a judging look.

All he wants is to feel less alone,

But he is treated and view like more of a crook.

It has been twenty-two years since his wife has passed,

Fifty-one since they had been wed.

He only wants to have one more chance to hold her hand,

But now he wishes it was him that were dead.

Every night he puts his hands together and prays,

hopefully something will happen to him so he could again be with his wife.

Whether it be due to the alchol or something else,

What ever it be to end this unhappy life.

For the last time he went to the Goose and Duck pub,

And got his second daily Tonic and Gin.

His tie slightly crooked and his vision blurred,

But this time life, he was going to win.
