You say hope, I say shit, but we're joined at the hip,

can't get away from this miracle of microchips

that enables us to electronically claw out each others eyes.

Each a roaring verbal bastard, with a platform to ream--lies,


truth each here--which is which, is all in the eyes of the beholder.

A long-distance launching pad makes cowards bolder.


Anonymity makes us all feel beyond reach of any repercussions,

gives a touch of menace to all our frank discussions


A device designed to make for easier communication,

has now given both scholars and idiots an electronic gun,


the bullet straight into everyone's disbelieving, or believing, face.

You'd like to believe in common sense, but it's often the case


that people with none, post what they wish to be true,

and follow the mantra, 'believe what I believe, or screw you!"
