In the clouds there are symbols to be read

But the shepherds lost the language long ago.

They're not words, spelled in three-dimensions,

They are symbols that we no longer know.

In the distance, the farmer sees the rainfall

And it says to him, "The rivers will soon rise."

So he makes ready for a flood that may come

And was warned by weather signs in the skies.

Sailors, too, are given clues by the sunrise

And the sunsets, other clues come in sight;

Red sky in the morning is a sailor's warning

But a red sky at night is a sailor's delight.

And still there are symbols in the clouds

Symbols lost to time and shepherd's eye.

Few have words to explain their simple meaning

And when they do, --- people say they're lies.
