When I was a young girl my sister used to chase me around the house. One day while she was chasing me I ran to the basement where there were lots of hiding places. She was right behind so I ran to the first thing I saw which as the washing machine. I climbed in and shut the door most of the way. My sister slammed the door shut with me inside and turned on the machine. Water started to rise and I was scared out of my wit. There was no soap just water and it was rising fast. My sister saw the fear in my eyes and tried to open the door but it was locked. She then ran to get my dad. He told her to give him a minute but she told him I was in danger. He ran in to see what was going on and yanked on the door but it would not budg. The water was really high now and I was crying because I was so frightened. He quickly went behind the machine and pulled the plug. The water stopped and the door unlocked and I was freed.

Washing Machine

In the dark I sat

Water pouring in

Suddenly the door locked, yes, with me within

My sister running for my dad

My life was flashing by

My vision was blurry with water in my eyes

I tried my best not to chug

I gave myself a great big hug

My dad came in and pulled the plug

No bath for me tonight
