There's a storm front moving across my brain,

bringing nasty weather with a feeling of rain

Batten down the hatches, shelter in place,

at least that's what I'll do, as protection from the rat race.

For I'm not ready to begin my writing day,

and I can't think of exactly what I'd like to say.

Swirling clouds of uncertainty obscure my horizon,

I need coffee, and lots, before I can say, my day's begun.
