This is a poem inspired by the reading of a lot of comics when I was young. It's written to invoke that style of reading and hopefully convey the feeling of power as well as a wee bit of humor in that realization. The first two lines literally popped in my head while at home on my day off from work. The rest just followed once I started writing.

Let there be pain as I rise from Death.

To refresh my soul and burn anew.

From sorrow, I am born once again

To inflict vengeance upon the damned and smite all those who oppose me.

In the end, all will see the fury I’ve become

Lest, you step in my place and become as I

You’ll never know the horror, but fear not.

For, I will show you.

Behold, your demise wretched one.

Writhe in your own self-pity

Cower not and face me before facing Hell

I am Human, I am Rage.

I am Retribution!!
