I wasn't born to settle,

I was born to thrive;

and reality just meddles,

messing with the vibe.

The blood in my veins, the thoughts in my mind;

the anger and pain and this battle with time.

I am not perfect and perhaps nowhere near,

I am complicated, difficult and not always clear.

I may be selfish, moody and unhappy at times,

not very supportive and not always kind.

I may seem distracted and maybe so vain,

and my problems in the end are what drive me insane.

No, I'm not perfect or a walk in the park,

and my thoughts seem often so dark.

So what good qualities define the person I am?

I'm reading through this and I can't understand.

Can 'Summer night' see what perhaps I can't see?

or does he see what I think truly defines me?

But I am much more than this negative description,

I am a woman with voice and no inhibitions.

I'm rare like a gem hidden in mud,

born with grace and bohemian blood.

I have so much to give like a listening ear,

I'm loyal, I'm faithful and I'm always here.

No---I'm not perfect, but who the hell is?

in spite of all, I'm a woman you'll miss.

Rare like a gem buried in mud,

Yes! I was born with bohemian blood.
