I saw an Angel Monday morning, on the porch-swing,

But when I looked at noon, --- she wasn't there.

In the evening she was seated near the oak tree,

Like a kid in a dream --- without a care.

Tuesday --- she took to praying in the garden

And after darkness fell --- she sang a forlorn song.

I saw no rhyme or reason for the things that she did

Yet I fear to speculate if they were right, --- or wrong.

Wednesday she was sighted tossing coins into the well

And on Thursday she wasn't anywhere around.

Friday  took me by surprise when I saw her in the skies

Then she napped in her garden without a single sound.

Now the Angle's in the corner of our house

But things aren't quite the same. Do you see?

Her remains are in an urn that sits upon a shelf

And her worldly woes are gone, --- she is free.
