If spoken with love, your words I would hear,

the tone of your voice falls not on deaf ears.

Am I so different from you, that you,

should treat me not unlike yourself, with love?

If mirrors lie, with all their honest truths,

then see me unlike I would see myself.

Think better of me; I might do the same.

So that we may both, be better than us.

Skin deep, beauty subjective, naked eyes

long eternity, immortality.

Am I so different from you, that you

would strike me down with words of rejection?

How did we learn such ugly ways to be?

Our eyes, the lies, the mirrors, we fear us.

Spoken with love, your words unforgotten,

unafraid reflection, ugly hostage.
