I hear the waves against the rocks.

I feel the cool breeze against my face

And the salt in my hair.

I hear the soft rustling of leaves.

But I'm afraid these feelings are a figment of my fantasy.

I can feel the earth's music fading

I can no longer spot the dance of the wild.

We have painted the skies black

And left the lands so barren.

I hear the planet sigh when you sleep.

She set herself ablaze to melt our cold hearts

She beseeched for mercy with her wrath.

Oh, How could we have been so oblivious?

A star shines the brightest when it is collapsing.

I want to find solace among flourishing pines

I want to breathe in the purest form of air

I don't ask for much

All I want is for us to reacquaint ourselves with the earth beneath our feet.
