Chapter One: Yes Or No

“Well? Theo will you marry me?” Pollux asked as Theo stared at the ring as Janice nodded looking at Athena.

“Yes I’ll marry you.” Janice chuckled hugging Athena as Theo gulped looking at the ring.

“Theo? You okay?” Pollux asked lightly shaking him.

“I--I need to go.” Theo told him running off as Pollux, Athena, and Janice looked at him as he ran.

“Theo!” Pollux shouted out but got no reaction from him. Theo kept running until he got into the center of town out of breath looking around. Theo ran into an old building that looked empty as he punched a wall shouting out.

“Well, well, well. Seem’s like out little source of good magic is all confused.” A kid spoke out as Theo spun around throwing a fist at him. The kid caught Theo’s arm pinning him against the wall as a blue fox tail appeared.

“Aoki? What’re you doing here?” Theo growled out as the teen lightly gripped Theo’s arm.

“You’re joking right? Don’t forget that we had a deal. I put you in that little coma so Khorne wouldn’t take control of your body and when you wake up and get control of your body you belong to me.” Aoki chuckled as Theo started breathing heavily feeling his arm starting to freeze.

“Now, should I mark you lightly, or harshly?” Aoki questioned gripping Theo’s arm tighter when saying ‘harshly’.

“You could just let go.” Theo growled out throwing a punch at him with his free arm. Aoki grabbed it and pinned Theo to the ground.

“Naughty, naughty, Theo.” Aoki chuckled out as frost started coming from Aoki’s hands before he could do another thing to Theo, Janice tackled Aoki.

“Who the hell are you?” Janice shouted out pinning him down. Theo got up turning around to see Janice.

“No! Get off of him!” Theo shouted pulling Janice off of Aoki before he could have frozen her.

“Theo, what the hell? He was attacking you.” Janice shouted as Athena and Pollux ran into the building.

“He’s an ice kitsune. He could have frozen your insides within minutes.” Theo explained as Aoki got up dusting himself off.

“What do you want with Theo?” Athena asked as the three got in front of him.

“Oh, he didn’t tell you? Naughty boy Theo. Shouldn’t be ashamed to explain how you met your future husband.” Aoki chuckled before disappearing as the others looked at him.

“What the hell does that mean?” Pollux shouted out as Theo gulped backing up slightly.

“Mansion, now!” Athena growled out opening a portal as the three dragged Theo through.

“It all started when I turned fifteen. I thought I was just getting powers. Like Jake and Victoria told me I would be.” Theo explained starting to tell them a story.

“Theo, come on, you’ll be late for school!” Victoria shouted out as the fifteen year old Theo slid down the stairs.

“I’ll be fine. I got enough time.” Theo chuckled walking into the kitchen grabbing an orange looking at his phone.

“You have four minutes before you’re late. Do I have to explain why you can’t be late again?” Victoria questioned as Theo rolled his eyes.

“Okay, I’m off. See you two later. Remember not to do anything you don’t want me to do.” Theo spoke out in a sing song voice leaving the house as Jake and Victoria chuckled shaking their heads. On the way to school Theo looked around seeing a younger Aoki run up to him.

“Hey, I thought you’d wait for me. I had to run through town just to find you. Being a kitsune doesn’t mean I can follow your scent.” Aoki spoke out as Theo laughed slightly.

“Sorry, I had to leave. I didn’t want to be late to school again. We all know how horrible it’d be if I did.” Theo told him sarcastically starting to peel the orange.

“Well, at least you won’t miss the power test.” Aoki chuckled as Theo took a deep breath about to turn around before Aoki grabbed his arm dragging him inside.

“You’ll be fine. So what if you don’t have powers. Not everyone will.” Aoki told him as Theo sighed deeply nodding.

“Right, so what if I get hit by a bunch of rocks, energy beams, fireballs, and that, it’d be another fun day at school.” Theo spoke out sarcastically as Aoki nodded.

“Why are you telling us this. Just tell us about the whole ‘future husband’ thing.” Pollux growled out as Theo rolled his eyes.

“To do that you have to hear the whole story. Now we were justing getting into the gym for the test.” Theo sighed continuing the story. Fifteen year old Theo got in line as the principal called up a student.

“Today, we’ll see who has powers, and who doesn’t, if you do have powers, we’ll be finding out what they are.” The principal shouted out as the kids nodded.

“Great, now I’m going to be humiliated in front of the entire school.” Theo sighed as Aoki grabbed Theo’s wrist with a blue glowing fox tail.

“Don’t worry about it. Just breathe okay? You’ll survive.” Aoki whispered as Theo nodded looking up noticing he was at the end of the line.

“Never mind. I guess I’ll be the last one to go. I won’t embarrass myself.” Theo chuckled as Aoki nodded as the tail gripped Theo’s wrist slightly tighter. Theo didn’t notice since he was still worrying about the test.

“You may get your powers while you’re up there.” Aoki told him as he released Theo’s wrist as the line moved forward.

“Yeah, hopefully.” Theo sighed looking around smiling at Aoki who was slightly rubbing his hand against Theo’s.

“So, you and this Aoki were dating before?” Pollux questioned crossing his arms looking at Theo.

“Pollux, that is so not the point of this story.” Janice groaned leaning back against the couch as Athena handed them bottled waters.

“Thanks, so anyways, can I continue?” Theo asked as Pollux sat up straight taking a sip of the water bottle before setting it down.

“Yeah, okay. Let’s hear the rest of the story.” Pollux sighed rolling his eyes as Theo cleared his throat again.

“Well, after an hour of waiting. It was finally about to be my turn.” Theo explained starting to continuing to tell the story.

“Theodore Hanabishi, please step up.” The principal spoke out as Theo’s breath starting to shake slightly as he stood up on the stage.

“Hello.” Theo spoke out looking at them and before they could begin the wall to the gym blew open causing teachers and students to jump back getting in a fighting stance.

“Welcome to the party!” A man shouted out with black magic glowing around him as Theo tilted his head.

“Where is the source of good magic?” The questioned as everyone looked around confused.

“He isn’t here.” The principal shouted out as the man darted his glanced at the principal and Theo.

“No, you’re wrong. He’s right there.” The man chuckled out pointing to Theo. Everyone looked over at him as the teacher's got in front of him.

“If you want him you have to go through us.” A teacher shouted out as the man held his hand up blasting everyone back except Theo and Aoki.

“Now, source of good magic. Please, step forward, step forward.” The man insisted walking up to Theo as he gulped hesitantly walking towards him. Before the man could do anything Aoki used his tail pulling Theo away from the man before kicking him.

“Theo, run!” Aoki ordered as Theo got up running out of the gym as the man growled at Aoki.

“You little brat I could kill you, you know.” The man hissed out before disappearing from the gym as the other teacher’s got up.

“We have to find Theo. Now!” Aoki shouted to the teachers as they all went racing out of the gym to find him.

Theo ran across the park jumping over a bench dodging a fireball as the man kept chasing him.

“Cam!” A woman shouted out as Theo looked over seeing a kid run towards the chaos not knowing what he was doing. The man grinned seeing the child.

“No!” Theo shouted out throwing his hand up at the man sending a electric ball at him sending the man down the park as Theo gasped slightly looking down at his hands as they glowed a dark black.

“What the hell?” Theo asked himself as the teachers and Aoki caught up to him seeing the glowing.

“Theo?” Aoki asked concerned cautiously walking towards him as Theo looked up at him from the ground smirking his eyes glowing purple.

“Not quite.” He chuckled out holding his hand out sending a blast at them.
