Rakan the gaurdian of the forest, or was anyways. His hands were drench in the water from the heavy rain, was he really supose to be here. The humans had evolved past both him and his past lover, and he was left in this mess of a world. He clenched his hand hard as tears seemed to mix with the raindrops, he suddenly feelt arms around him as he tried to calm himself.
"Human....Why are you here again?"
His words seemed to be empty, and not as threathning as before.

It all began with a lound bang, the sound of stones and large boulders hitting the ground. Within seconds and it all just went dead silent, no sound nor movment. It was just Rakan and Xayah left in the ruins of once a horrible place, they both looked at eachother in a moment of passion and relife. As they looked over the forest which slowly transformed, they both smiled with a hint of sucess. They done it, the thing they fought for so long was finally done. They restored their forest, which so many before them failed to do. The next couple of days were like a dream, no signs of Zed or his army of shadows. Everything was peacefull, even if the lands was a tad empty. It didn't matter however since they had eahcother, and it would always stay that way. After a couple of years the forest started to fill up with animals and other creatures, which both Xayah and Rakan promised and woved to protect.

As Millenniums passed by like a gust of wind, Rakand and Xyaha keept their promise to the land and the creatures of it. They fought anything that would interfere or harm their forest. and the life of the forest continued on. But as time changed the forest, the time changed the life outside the forest. Humans had evolved much futher then anyone would imagine, and spread their areas far and wide across each part of the land. Xayah and Rakans forest was no exception, they had fought away humans many times before and was left alone for many Millennias. This time they thought it was no diffrent, but since the humans changed their weapons was greater then what they exspected.  They fought for a week to hold the forest but the weapons of the humans were far to dangerous, within one hit Xayah was hurt badly. Rakan and Xayah had no other option then brake their promise, and flee deeper into the area.

Rakan had healed Xayah many times before this, and it worked like a charm every time. But not this time, the wounds was buried deep into her chest area which caused it to damage more parts. Rakan had to face a hard thruth which he never thought he would never face, he would have to watch Xayah die before he does. Tears streaming down his cheeks as he looked down on the weakend Xayah, she had the same soft smile as she touched his cheek. "The tears never suited you", her voice was clear but still weak. A small smile grew as the tears was still streaming down his cheeks, "What will I do without you". He asked as he was very uncertain about the situation from now on, she just smiled as she laid her hand on his cheeks and rubbed it. "You will always find a way that is kinda your thing", she started to cough as the line of words were finished. He held her closer as he knew she had not much streanght left, he held her close and near for the rest of that night.

The light of the morning sun hit their hideout a couple of hours later, Xayah had been dead for atleast half of those hours. Rakan was still sitting with her in his arms, he was completly empty. All he feelt was emptiness and anger, he was not sure how to proceed. He took a tierd step out of his sitting posesition with her in his arms, he stepped out of their shealther with a grim look on his face. He continued to walk to a special place, the creatures around the forest all stared at him as he passed them. As he approached the once start of this jorney he laid her down on a stone nearby, his hands hit the dirt as he started to dig furiously. Dirt was flying around him as he continued to dig, the tears has stopped but everyone knew what this meant. His hands stopped a while after, he rose from the hole as he came for Xayahs body. He laid her down into the hole, as he softly took one feather from her and replaced it with his own. He softly covered her with dirt and a large stone to mark the place, he clenched his fist as rage started to fill him. He walked from the grave determend, and angered by the humans lost ways. Their greed, their blindness to see the magic of this wonderfull place.

He continued fighting the humans for weeks after Xayahs death, losing not only the fights but more grounds. More creatures lost their life in the small war against the humans, and soon it was only Rakan left. All the creatures fled or died fighting for their home, Rakan however was not going to leave that place. His anger was the thing that made him fight another day, he fought the humans back a bit but only for them to come back the next day stronger and worse. His injuries finally overcame him and he could no longer fight, he hated himself even for thinking about it but either he would die here or flee to fight another time. "You will always find a way that is kinda your thing", the words echoed so loud in his head. He feelt in a hopeless seat as he did not want to leave, but he had no choice. He took his farwells to Xayahs grave one last time, before he left the forest to die without his protection.
