He was addicted. He thought he had it all figured out, he had the girl and he was on his way to getting what he wanted. She was sweet and intriguing, she occupied his mind and made him determined to find out who she truly was. He thought she was perfectly stunning but he knew behind it all she really wasn’t, but he couldn’t stop his craving thoughts about her. He made her fascinated with his ironically innocent blue eyes and made it that much easier to destroy her quirky little smile. He wanted to know more about her, leading her on, slowly crumbling her heart brick by brick as he destroyed the wall she worked so hard to build. She was like a child playing blocks, they build their blocks higher and higher just to have them knocked down again and again but they still continue to build it up. No matter how many times he broke down her wall she found a way to convince herself it was right.
She had hidden scars only she could see and even if he could see them he never would understand. But she was strong and she always smiled at the good and laughed at the ones she loved… until he took that that from her too. He locked it away. She found a way to continue laughing but he was the only one who could hear the sound slip out from between her lips. He would make fun of the way she dressed, she never showed too much skin, barely any at all, but if he knew her, he would know why. He wondered why the mention of the future made the rims of her eyes become damp. He asked why she didn’t see her beauty. He would know if he listened. If he listened he would know he was the one who fogged the vision of her beauty and made her look at herself like she was someone else. And when he finally did it left her wondering what she did wrong. She asked herself why she wasn’t good enough. She always wondered if he was all she would ever have and now she didn’t even have him. He was her moon, he only came out when her clothes were off and the lights had been shut out. She was completely alone, left to contemplate everything on the cold floor of her bedroom.
He played her like an instrument, the sweet sounds disguised the pain behind his words.
He was an actor, but he didn’t have a stage. He rehearsed on a girl and made her believe she was apart of the script. He taught her the lines day by day until she knew every word. Even after the show is done an actor remembers it all. And she took the role of an actress.
The sound of his lies were like the sound of his heart beat. Constant. But he tells her his heart doesn't beat.
The boys eyes that made her feel at ease when she looked into them now felt like she was drowning in daggering water. She fights to reach the surface, for a gulp of air but his hand that once wrapped around her waist now combs through her hair forcing the water to her lungs. She continues to try and wrangle out from his grip. But her vision goes black and her body sinks lifelessly to the bottom.
When she hit her eyes opened and the hammering feeling of heart against her ribs once again was her reality. Her hair was moving with the currents of the ocean’s water, through the strands there was a  dark shadow sinking into the darkness. A magnet drew her in towards the figure… she fought through and swam to him, water flowing through the gaps of her fingers and the movement of her arms drove her closer to him. She was moving faster than she knew she even could, he sparked something in her. He was a stranger but it felt like she knew him for his entirety. She took his hand in hers and they fit perfectly together as if they were meant to be a whole. His eyes slowly fluttered open and the feeling of worthlessness faded and they slowly made their way to the surface, having ups and downs but with the support of each other they made it. Filling their lungs with the greatest gasp of air and their hearts with the undeniable lust they shared.
He wrapped around her waist floating in the water and she found blue was not her color… it was the light brown of the boys eyes. That was her color. She softly moved her hands to his cheeks and together they slowly leaned in letting their pumping adrenaline take over and their lips met making her forget every line she couldn’t get out of her head . And the electric shock of their lips touching was enough to make him understand everything her past didn’t take the time to understand. But for them not a single word was needed. She was in love with the boy she meant in the dark. It’s true when people say there is no way but up when you hit rock bottom.
The roles had changed now her old memories had faded but his were replaying over and over again. He was learning what it felt like to be her. But she wasn’t evil like he was… her feelings of desperation brought her back to the water, the blue pulling her under and the caramel brown bringing her up. She looked down to see the same old smirk of achievement and took the brown- eyed boy in her embrace and locked their lips as the smirk faded with the rest of him. Nothing else mattered she had the boy and he had her, he swept her off her feet and made her love her biggest fear. Her laugh echoed through the air as they laughed together. Marking the beginning of the new.
