I wish I'd never met you
Maybe it wouldn't hurt
As much as it does now

Plan and calculate every step

One foot equals two closer to you

Right one quick in front of left

If I’m to make it out alive

I might need some help

One word is worth three thoughts for you

Put a hand on my hip, make the polish show

Looking through my lashes up to the pretty blue

Everything I do, all for you

Fix my hair, hide my face

Bite my lips and now they’re red

Heel first then toe for that little click

Make sure everything’s in place

Your mouth is curved into a smile

Your slender hands carefree

Your caramel eyes lit up bright

As if it’s all for me

Your jeans are tight

Your collar loosened

If I play it right

I could get noticed

Ten feet now turns to three

My heart beating faster every second

I open my mouth, force a laugh

And for a moment

One precious moment

Those eyes slide to me…

And slip right past

My strides slow down

My heart plummets fast

And you just walk by

That entrancing smile

Now cold and cruel

What’d I expect

From a person like you?

I’d stupidly forgotten

We were already through

Whatever was between us

Is long, long gone

And now I’m left

To hold the burden

I should’ve known

It was never true

My mended heart

Back in two

All these thoughts

And all these moves

All my love
