Crumbling

X

Shhh,

Listen, as the leaves crackle beneath your feet.

As their frail bodies are now withered shells of what they used to be.

 You relate to this, yes?

Does this resemble, in you, a feeling of sadness?

Perhaps this is because you feel similarly to the leaf.

Not in physical limitations; but perhaps in emotional ones.

Perhaps you are a withered soul under somebody else’s heavy feet.

Take a leaf with you as a keepsake of this feeling.

Realize that just like the leaf you possess, it too will shrivel away into nothing.

And soon that feeling will die.

Let the leaf represent just the negative feelings of your heart. But never the whole tree of your emotions.

For what is one Fall seasons leaves when there are many more to come?

 Simply, a memory..
