A poet's block

Staring at a black page
An empty sheet
Wondering which words to write
Which ones will to begin with
And which ones follow suit
Nothing ever sounds right

For what theme I choose
Could ever relay
The thoughts deep within
The emotions I portray
Tortured souls make creative geniuses
That’s what people say
But what about tortured souls that bear no gifts
What price do they have to pay?
Truth be told
it makes no difference what I write
No words could ever suffice
Because no matter what pen or ink I use
My thoughts are left behind
