A songbird’s cry for help

A songbird perched upon a wooden beam

Peeking down on life beneath

Callous winds and treacherous weather

Forbade flight upon its frail wings

Cruelty comes in many forms

To make a terrestrial out of a bird is one

No songs of glee, no whispers of joy

Just cries of help tonight

A celestial night turned horrendous plight

A grapple with death reigns king

Perceived by none

Overshadowed by fate

Oh how quickly do things deteriorate
