Flawed.

An image of perfection you carry in your mind,

but someone living up to it – that will be hard to find.

You might be wanting an appearance that really is ideal

but remember all those photographs, they don’t show what is real.

They’ve been filtered, they’ve been touched up, colored just a drop,

for they’ve been through the process of good ol’ ‘Photo-Shop’,

and no matter how we battle, however hard we try

we’re never gonna match them so don’t you go and cry.

Then you’ll hear of fame and fortune, the six figure deal,

when even getting readers is hard enough you feel.

There’s people getting rich on YouTube, getting to be ‘known’,

while you’d be happy just to know that you’re saved to someone’s phone.

It’s all made to look so easy but it’s mainly down to luck

but never feel you’re ability is something you should chuck

away – there’s so much unsung talent. Just because you’re not adored

it’s no indication that your production is in any way, um, flawed.

Forget the concept of perfection and say ‘Go to Hell’ to that,

It’s not a real life-changer if you are thin or if you’re fat.

We’re not made from any plastic, we are humans – flesh and blood,

don’t let imperfections get you down or with shame let them flood.

Know that you are beautiful, that you really can create --

don’t allow flaws to make you think you’re someone just to hate.
