Upon the Lake We Said Goodbye

Croon and cry

In the hush of night.

Alone is the sigh

That bids all goodbye.

Weary beyond measure

Woeful without pleasure.

Timid and tearful,

Courageous yet fearful.

I live alone with naught to fear

For none can take what isn’t here.

I saw your hand, you waved and sighed

Upon the lake, we said goodbye.
