Carbon Fibre

I’m rifling through my wardrobe, I’m searching for a suit;

doesn’t matter what it looks like – I’m not trying to be cute.

The material’s what’s important as I’m looking for protection,

carbon fibre’s what I’m searching for – it’s become my prime selection.

Just let fly with kicks and slaps, words with hate intended

this suit, it will absorb them, you won’t even make it dented.

The rattle of machine-gun fire, the singly taken shot

once could have been so lethal, before this armour I had got.

Take your aim and fire away for I've become impervious,

your fire-power next-to-useless now – I’m not even getting nervous.

The words, well they are firing off, they’re bouncing all around,

the bullets laying harmlessly – a thick carpet on the ground.

This suit has made me bullet-proof, both my head and heart

so come on now, just do your best and fire off that dart.

This carbon fibre suit of armour – it really is my friend,

for there’s no other form of defence on which I can depend.
