Pirates are a specific kind of thief and criminal. It has to happen at sea, or at least on the shores of the sea. They have ships, and attack other ships. They sometimes attack harbors and cities on the coast, but that was in the old times. And this is about old times pirates we gonna talk here, when they were widespread and fearful.

Jack is a pirate of the Caribbean Sea, a sea full of pirates and islands to hide. But Jack was a loner, had no ships, had no crew, and no money. He had been deprived of his ship by his mutinous first mate, Hector Barbossa . He had to hide from other pirates or travel with them most of the time. He was not like Blackbeard or Francis Drake, the captain on board. But unlike both of them, he didn't die in a battle at sea. Actually, his death was quite original, he was swallowed by the Kraken. But Jack didn't lose anything by leaving his ship to Barbossa. The Black Pearl (name of the ship) was cursed, it turned into ghost ships at night, included all the crew.

How does look the chest of a dead man ("Dead Man's Chest")? It looks just the same as the chest of a man alive. The only difference is that you don't hear the heartbeat. So, it should have been: How does sound the chest of a dead man? And the correct answer would be: it's silent, no heartbeat.

Jack is a pirate who takes it to the extremes. This is why he ended at "World's End", or if you prefer, at the end of the world. How the hell does look the end of the world!? You can find an answer in the bible, and it says: "The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare." It's amazing to think Jack as been there, and came back alive. He even survived the Kraken's mouth, don't ask me how.

Pirates are supposed to know everything about the sea. The tides have no secret for them. But what happens when they find themselves caught "On Stranger Tides"? They usually die, they fall in love with mermaids and are taken to the depth of the sea. The only thing to do, is avoid to listen to mermaid singing. Once they catch you, they turn into monsters and it's too late.

Jack always believed that "Dead Men Tell No Tales". Dead men simply don't talk, if they do, it means they are not dead. But Armando Salazar was dead and could talk, he could even tell tales. How the hell is it possible?! Everything is possible in the world of Jack Sparrow, even finding the Trident of Poseidon. Jack was like "Hercules, Half God, Half Man, All Power". That would explain how he survived the Kraken's mouth and managed to find the Trident of Poseidon.

Despite of it, Jack was very infamous for righteous characters like Admiral James Norrington or young gentleman Will Turner.

"You are without a doubt the worst pirate I've ever heard of." Said James

"But you've heard of me." Answered Jack

Jack worried more about being famous than being the worst. It's a trait shared with many criminals.

"You cheated!" Said Will

"Pirate." Answered Jack

The day you stop cheating, you can stop calling yourself a pirate. Jack was Jack because he was a pirate. Who would he be if he stopped being a pirate? Surely a nobody.

"This is either madness, or brilliance." Said Will

"It's remarkable how often those two traits coincide." Answered Jack

It's strange how righteous men like Will see everything in black or white. Jack saw everything in a pirate flag way, there's some white (skull and crossbones symbol) and some black (black flag). It's a bit like the yin yang symbol, but with a "slightly" different meaning.

"I'm dishonest, and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly, it's the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly stupid."

Dishonest men like Jack always do something incredibly stupid. It gets boring cause it's so predictable. It is harder to be honest than dishonest, as dishonesty is the easy way. It's also harder to be smart than stupid. And obviously, this is harder to be righteous than to be a pirate.

"The problem is not the problem. The problem is your attitude about the problem. Do you understand?"

Without Jack the sea would have one less problem, and it's not about attitude at all.

"Not all treasure's silver and gold, mate."

Sure, there's also: diamond, sapphire, ruby, emerald... and Elizabeth Swann.

"So, goodnight Jack. To end the curse in the oceans you had to divide the Trident of Poseidon. To end the curse of world poverty you have to divide wealth better."
