Crossroad Flower

“Will our roads cross again?”

Sweet friend, you stole my isolation
All I thought of was you through the night.
But then you gave me desperation
Only ever adding to my plight.

For you see,
You with my pretty flower,
Over me
You did have so much power.

Though love did not come at first sight
You and I spent time enough to watch it prosper.
Time in and time out we’d see each other.
You left, still I gave all I could offer

In Summer the petals did glitter
But Autumn approached feeling bitter
Came Winter the flower did wither
But Spring did come
And with it
A new seed came hither.

I blame you not
Nor scorn you too,
But you are no longer
She who I sought
Nor she who I knew.

Farewell to thee, my summer beauty.
All in all it was not too bad
You need not sigh as you say goodbye.
It was just a little sad.

Only for you
Did I take off my mask.
So for you
I shall answer what you ask

“No they will not.”
