Where?

Where are you when I need a hand to hold?

You’re sure as hell not here.

I could go, scream out your name

But you still would not hear.

Where are you when I’m crying,

So sad and all alone?

I’d go and dial your number

But I’ve gone and lost my phone.

Where are you when it hurts so much

It’s hard to even breathe?

I need someone to hold me now

My tension to relieve.

Where are you when I need someone

With whom I can just talk?

Well, you’re not talking back to me;

I guess I’ll take a walk.

Where are you in the morning

When the sun just leaves me cold?

I should have turned my back upon

This fiction I’ve been sold.
