This is a short story a wrote in about a hour and a half, I was inspired to write this because I am a insomniac and that leads to some interesting ordeals. I was on a short vacation and on the first night I could not let the dream world take control of my conscience, so in retaliation to my own inadequacy I was forced to remain awake. My continued consciousness led to me experiencing both audio and visual hallucinations, and it was those glimpse into insanity that made me write this work of fiction. What's it about, I don't know mainly because I don't recall writing it entirely, I only remember what led to me writing it, not what it is.

The Sleepless Night

As the night droned on and on the idea of daylight and safety faded within the darkest recesses of the minds afflicted, the everlasting depression and terror filled what was bored out. This fear, this heart wrenching fear, took hold of the afflicted, and did not let go until every last drop of their sanity was drained from them as if it the fear had purpose, a plan. Thru this sleepless night, the poor souls who must deal with this shadow man, who deals in fear and petals petty waking nightmares, were tormented for all hours of the night. Played with by this manifestation for no purpose other than self gratifying torment of beings lesser to him, the display was pitiful and the final outcome of meddling in minds so simple led to a infatuation with him. This praise thru domination would however never last, due to the tiny number of hours in his great ruling in damnation. When time was up and the unwanted deed was done the minds were unknowingly freed but not restored to any former glory, and the manifestation whose rule was thought to be done had only begun. At the end of the sleepless night, when daylight shoned and dawn had just begun to bathe the horizon with its infectious golden rose glow, none would truly know how it happened. None would ever know what this night had unleashed into the deepest dreams of all who had unwittingly witness the atrocious crime. This, shadow man, creature of pure despair and putrid evil thoughts would lead to nothing more but endless destruction of domains that are not of his creation, but will end up being of his constant wrecking.
