A short poem for a contest I've entered. Fading friendship. It's based on true events, like all my writing. Enjoy.

I remember all things sweet about our friendship.

Sweet, like sugar.

The sugar we used to use for baking.

The sugar we used for the sweet, sticky, drinks for summer.

We would stir and watch it dissolve.

Over time all the stirring of our lives made too much commotion.

Many, many stirs making a huge, huge, motion.

The sugar sweetness of our lives slowly dissolve.

Dissolve to nothing but bittersweet traces.

Traces to be drank down by someone else.
